Hammer candlestick

Bullish · kanazuchi / tonkachi

Drawn example, not a real chart

What it shows

After a decline, a session that dropped sharply and then climbed all the way back to close at the top of its own range. The long lower wick is the ground that was given up and retaken; the small body at the top is what was left of the argument. There is little or no wick above, because the market finished at its high.
